Karcher is the world's largest manufacturer of cleaning machines for indoor and outdoor use. Since inventing the pressure washer in 1950, Kärcher has gone on to develop a vast range of equipment for industrial, commercial and domestic application. Kärcher is most famous as the world leader in pressure washers with over 60% of the total UK market. Kärcher manufacture two distinct ranges of pressure washer; the professional type (sometimes referred to as commercial or industrial) and the domestic type (sometimes referred to as DIY or consumer).

Kärcher's professional range of pressure washers is not readily available on the high street or in DIY superstores. A key feature of professional machines is their ability to deliver a greater volume of water at high pressure. Pressure Washers that deliver more water can clean with greater speed and efficiency. For this reason, when choosing a high pressure cleaner, water flow is usually more significant than pressure. The professional range is also far more rugged in design. In professional machines every major component is upgraded to provide optimum power, durability and prolonged service life.
