There are engine management switches linked to many parts of the car, such as the brake lights, reversing lights, door lights, coolant temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, radiator fan and parking sensors. All these switches are very sensitive and sometimes operate under extreme conditions. They can malfunction for a number of reasons, including brake fluid leaks, high operating pressures, temperature gauge failures or overheating. Before you fork out on an expensive new car part, it’s always worth checking it’s not the engine management switch itself that’s malfunctioning, rather than the component it’s linked to. You’ll save yourself a lot of money if all you have to replace is a switch. Get a professional automotive mechanic to make this diagnosis using the appropriate diagnostic tools. We stock a large range of engine management switches for all makes and models of car.
