There are two main types of fan in your car: one to stop your engine from overheating, and one that your air-conditioning system uses to keep you and your passengers cool in warm weather.

Your engine fan blows cool air through your car’s combustion system to transfer heat from the coolant to the radiator. The radiator then uses this air to disperse the heat into the atmosphere. Without a working fan, your engine could get too hot and seize up.
