What Are Car Filters?

Your car goes through a lot. From dirty oil particles to squashed bugs on your front bumper, it’s very easy for your vehicle to get filthy, quickly. It's the primary function of filters to delay that process and keep your car running properly as a result.

As you drive your car, debris and dirt are churned up from the road and interact with your car’s components. Filters are there to act as a barrier, stopping hazardous materials from getting into your engine.

Fuel Filters

Your fuel filter limits the impact of any impurities in your petrol and diesel on your engine; any dust, rust and debris is caught in the filter rather than passing through into your engine.

Oil Filters

Protecting your engine from dangerous contaminants, an oil filter removes the small metal particles that can build up in your oil over time. This means your oil lasts for longer before it needs to be changed and prevents harmful debris reaching your engine.

Air Filters

Air filters stop pollution and dirt from reaching your engine, making sure a stream of fresh, clean air can enter your vehicle’s systems. This kind of filter is crucial to your engine’s performance and contributes to your fuel efficiency.

Pollen Filters

Sometimes known as cabin filters, pollen filters keep dust, pollen, exhaust fumes and more out of your car’s interior. They improve air quality for you and your passengers, and contribute to heating and cooling, too.
