About Switch & Sensors

Switches and sensors play a key role in regulating temperature – and their exposure to heat can cause issues from time to time. Luckily, we have a wide range of cooling switches and sensors for you to choose from in case you need a replacement.

Your car's cooling system is responsible for carrying heat away to the air outside. This prevents your engine from overheating. Cooling switches and sensors may be small, but they play a vital part in this process. If your car has a mechanical thermostat, then it uses a cooling fan switch to regulate the temperature of your engine. In simple terms, the switch tells your cooling fan when to blow and when to stop. Does your car have a computer system to regulate temperature? If so, then your fan uses a cooling sensor to identify engine temperature. The computer uses the data from the sensor to start the cooling fan and stop your engine from rising above a certain level. Essentially, the cooling switch and sensor perform the same job in different contexts. In either case, if your engine’s cooling fan doesn’t turn on when the engine heats up, or the anti-freeze you put in gets too hot, then it is likely that your cooling fan switch or sensor is faulty. To protect your engine and prolong the life of your car, Euro Car Parts supplies only the best cooling switches and sensors available.
