Keep your gears from crunching and improve the lifespan of your vehicle’s transmission by ensuring its transmission oil levels are consistently topped up. You may also want to consider replacing your transmission oil, just as you would your engine oil, every six months or 10,000 miles. To check your car’s transmission oil level, look under the bonnet and consult your user manual in order to find the right dipstick. Once located, pull the dipstick out, wipe clean with a paper towel and reinsert. If the level shown is below the recommended level, top it up immediately. Not all cars use the same transmission oil, so be sure to check your user manual before purchasing.
