Lowering Springs

Lowering Springs

Car lowering springs are the easiest and cheapest way to improve both the handling and look of your car. These lowering kits consist of a replacement set of coil springs, which are supplied as a complete car set, this would usually be a set of 4 but on some French cars that use a torsion bar instead of coil springs on the rear, they come as a front pair only. When a car is fitted with a torsion bar, you can fit the lowering kit on the front axle and then the torsion bar can be adjusted to lower the rear. Lowering springs will generally lower the cars ride height between 30 - 40mm, however on some cars you can go lower, up to 60mm on some applications, it is worth remembering that if you go down this low it is advisable to use a special shortened shock absorber whereas you can use the standard shocks with up to 40mm lowered springs, but obviously for best results you should always look to fit some up rated dampers.
