unit joins the chassis of the car to the wheels and houses the rear suspension and braking system. It consists of 2 trailing arms either side that rotate on a shaft protruding from the central beam. The suspension is provided by 2 torsion bars which act, in effect as the springs. Through the centre of the rear axle runs the anti roll bar.
The whole unit is assembled and comes complete with 4 mounting rear axle bushes that mount to the bottom of the car. Signs of wear in
are positive and negative camber in the wheels, wheels wobbling when jacked up, unstable handling and knocking noises from the rear axle.
