Spigot Bearing & Freewheel Clutchs

A spigot bearing clutch has a spigot bearing located in the centre the flywheel. Its job is simply to support the front end of the gearbox input shaft. At the gearbox end the shaft pushes through the clutch with a splined section connecting the clutch to the gearbox, with a machined section sitting in the middle of the flywheel.
